Restorative Dentistry

Repairing damaged teeth and restoring function while preserving as much natural structure as possible.

What is Restorative Dentistry

Restorative dentistry is the rebuild side of general practice: the fillings, crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, dentures, partials, and root canals that bring damaged or missing teeth back to full function. At Toothology in Richmond, our team approaches every restoration with the same conservative thinking that defines the rest of the practice: do what’s needed, no more, with materials and techniques that age well.

Results That Speak for Themselves

Why Restorative Care

A small problem caught early is a filling. The same problem caught two years later is a root canal and a crown. Restorative dentistry, done at the right time and done well, is the difference between keeping your natural teeth and losing them. The Toothology team plans every restoration with longevity in mind: the right material for the bite, the right design for the tooth, and a careful, conservative removal of only what’s necessary so the strongest part of your tooth keeps doing the work it was built for.

Our Restorative Treatments

Dental Fillings

Tooth-colored composite fillings that restore decayed or damaged teeth quickly, conservatively, and invisibly. The most common restoration we do, and the one we want to catch problems at.

Crowns

Custom-crafted caps that cover and protect heavily damaged or weakened teeth. Designed for strength, aesthetics, and a precise bite fit.

Bridges

A fixed restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the teeth on either side. A solid option where implants aren’t ideal.

Inlays & Onlays

A middle ground between a filling and a crown, used when damage is too extensive for a filling but the tooth doesn’t need a full crown. The more conservative choice when it applies.

Dentures & Partials

Custom dentures and partials designed to fit comfortably, look natural, and restore the ability to eat and speak with confidence.

Root Canals

A predictable, comfortable procedure to save a tooth with an infected or damaged nerve. Done well, a root-canal-treated tooth can last decades.
